Bala is the founder and CEO of JMN Investments Research (P) Ltd. He and his team of analysts provide research to the
financial services industry, offering services to support research analysts in M&A, investment banking, and many
other areas. Prior to JMN's founding, Bala was Senior Analyst and Head of Credit Research for Waterstone
Capital Management, LP. During his 20+ year career, he held positions of increasing responsibility for
Payden&Rygel Investment Management, Allstate Insurance Company, and Wells Fargo. Bala earned
an MBA from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor Degree in Science from Loyola University in
Chennai. He holds both the CPA and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designations and
is the Country Head for the CFA Institute in India. He also stays active in his profession
through various volunteer positions with the CFA Institute. In his spare time, Bala
spends time sailing and is a member of the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association.
